Rating agencies expect high standards from BoI — MD

The Managing Director of the Bank of Industry, Mr. Olukayode Pitan, has said that international rating agencies expect the development finance institution to maintain high standards and continually improve its management system. He said this while announcing the bank’s attainment of ISO 9001:2015 certification in Lagos. He said, “Bear in mind though, that this certification marks the beginning of a three -year quality management system cycle within which the organisation is expected to maintain and continually improve its management system.”

Correspondingly, a post- implementation framework has been developed to ensure that we maintain high standards and pass both the internal and external ISO audits as they take place within the cycle and beyond.” According to him, as part of strategies to achieve the bank’s vision to become a leading development finance institution operating under global best practices in Africa, the management of the bank took a decision to implement the ISO 9001:2008 QMS in 2014.
